Volunteer Opportunities
The Fairfax Genealogical Society is a volunteer-based organization, and our work would not be possible without passionate people stepping forward to lend a hand. That being said, we can always use your help! Please contact our Volunteer Coordinator at volunteer@fxgs.org if you are interested in helping out.
In addition to our general call for volunteers, we are looking for people to volunteer for the following opportunities, events, and vacant positions:
SIG Leader Vacancies
We have vacancies in several of the SIG leadership posts. Unless interested persons step forward to volunteer as SIG leaders, the following SIGs will cease to exist:
- Carolinas and Georgia Connections SIG
- Irish SIG (see below opportunity)
- Midwestern SIG
- New York SIG
- Old Dominion SIG
- Technology SIG
Irish SIG Leader
We are in need of a long-term leader for the Irish SIG. Paul McFarland has agreed to take on these duties temporarily, until a permanent leader can be appointed.
