FxGS Membership Meetings

Open to visitors as well as FxGS members, our monthly membership meetings are an opportunity to hear the activities of the board, the SIGs, and committees. These meetings also include a program designed to aid researchers at all levels in learning methods to solve genealogical problems and research techniques, historical information, sources of records, and social customs.  Our meetings generally have a featured speaker and an opportunity to ask questions.  Come a little early and talk to the other attendees to exchange information and to help one another solve research problems.

Meetings are usually held the fourth Thursday of the month, September through May, excluding December. In November, we meet a week earlier because of Thanksgiving.  We meet at 7:30 p.m. in the Lecture Hall of Kilmer Middle School, 8100 Wolf Trap Road, Vienna, Virginia.  Admission is free and visitors are encouraged. We welcome suggestions for programs, comments, and questions.  You may contact  our First Vice President for Programs with ideas.  Check our events calendar for upcoming meetings.

FxGS Monthly Education Classes

FxGS sponsors a monthly education class, which is open to visitors as well as FxGS members.  The classes are designed to aid researchers at all levels in learning methods to solve genealogical problems and research techniques, historical information, sources of records, and social customs.   The class generally has a featured speaker and an opportunity to ask questions, share information, and help one another solve research problems.

Classes are usually held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon on the Saturday following the Thursday Night Monthly Meetings of the Society, from September through April.  There isn't a class in October because that is the date of our Fall Fair, or in March because that is the date of our Spring conference, or in May because of Memorial Day Weekend.  The classes are held at the Dunn Loring Volunteer Fire Department, 2148 Gallows Road, Vienna, VA 22027.

Admission is free and visitors are welcome. We welcome suggestions for programs, comments, and questions.  You may contact  our Education Chair with ideas.  See the Events Calendar for upcoming classes.
