The Fairfax Genealogical Society Newsletter (ISSN 0895-2078) is published five times per year in September, November, January, March, and May. It keeps Society Members informed of upcoming events of the Society and other local societies and research facilities and includes articles and announcements of genealogical interest.
Members receive the Newsletter electronically by e-mail. In addition, current and past issues of the Newsletter are available electronically to Society Members on the Members Only section of this website.
The Newsletter is indexed in the PERiodical Source Index (PERSI) of the Allen County Public Library Foundation.
Awards
The Newsletter was awarded in 2011 an Honorable Mention (second place) in the National Genealogical Society's 2011 Newsletter Competition in the County or Local Genealogical or Historical Society Newsletter category. This runner-up award is a great tribute to all those who have provided articles for the Newsletter over the years.
Submissions
We encourage the submission of articles and news items of interest to genealogists, including Bible records. Transcriptions of records related to Fairfax County are particularly needed.
