The theme of the meeting: Researching our Ancestors, will feature a special guest David Nicholson, author of The Garretts of Columbia: A Black South Carolina Family from Slavery to the Dawn of Integration. This a personal multi-generational family story that extends from the slave trade until after WWII.

From this discussion have come a few interesting topic ideas for future meetings, including navigating various genealogy websites and search engines, how to find records that are not online, reading old German script, performing cemetery analysis to find relationships, genealogy tourism to find new information and sharing research success stories and German family history discovery.
